ABOUT ME

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion for film and photography. I learned how to create storyboards, film, light, and edit with Premiere Pro, as well as  composition and how to use Photoshop when I was in high school. When I attended the University of New Hampshire, I took as many film classes as possible.  I learned basic production techniques and how to critically analyze films. I also took photography classes that taught me in depth photography techniques and how to hand develop my own photographs. While at UNH I worked at Cooperative Extension as a video editor and media specialist. My supervisor, Ms. Cragin, assigned me various Cooperative Extension events where I would document and edit them in order to promote the school’s environmental aspects. I even taught a couple production classes on editing. I loved it!

When I transferred to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, I decided that I wanted to major in Mass Communications in order to follow my passion. I learned to hone my videography and storytelling skills so that I could specialize in the production process. I am well versed in all aspects of production. I created many segments for the school’s television show, “Global Village”. One of the segment I produced was a two part series on the SIUE Alternative Spring Break at New Orleans. I’m honored to say those segments are currently being used on SIUE’s youtube channel.

I decided to do my internship at Scott AFB at the 375th AMW Public Affairs, which was responsible for the base’s newspaper, The Command Post. There I; produced photo stories for the Scott AFB base paper, used Adobe Photoshop to edit photos, and managed weekly columns such as “Man on the Street” and "Enabling Combat Power”.

My love of film and photography led me to graduate from SIUE with a bachelor in Mass Communications. I recently returned to SIUE to complete a MS in Mass Communications.
